[ this is a last resort.
nero the sable had been recovered from the site of omega's ascension. though initially unconscious (and after a covert attempt to 'humanely' euthanize the experiment) he awoke within the bowels of the WRO disoriented, angry, and mistrustful of all the scientists gathered around him. the only thing that had saved them was his void had yet to recover, his mind sluggish from the sedatives. and there a negotiation was had.
weiss fused into omega and when the WEAPON had been defeateed and fallen into sleep, so too had his brother. and as omega was pure, and the lifestream was pure, only pure souls could enter the lifestream.
nero was not.
he could die a thousand times and each would end the same, spat out into the living world as the rot the planet refused. killing all life on earth would not hasten his reunion with his brother. and so he offered them amnesty in exchange for meeting his demands.
though docile, compliant, and unusually well mannered for a deepground prisoner - the fact remained that should anyone come too close to nero, they were summarily consumed by his void and only released when he felt as though he had regained the power in the situation.
and with that leverage he asked only for vincent valentine.
vincent gets an (unanswered) phonecall saying as much. then a then a text message. each more frantic than the last. eventually reeve finds himself escorting the tsviet to vincent's most likely location, nervous as though nero has no weapons pointed at him, the tsviet himself is a weapon. ]
